Performing as a Pianist in Lincolnshire.
My name is Eugene Portman and over the years the sparsely populated county of Lincolnshire has given me a lot of work as a pianist. The county has some lovely venues and it does seem to be a popular region for weddings. I play the piano for many weddings, however, I also perform at some private parties and corporate events in the Licolnshire area.
The Music
I specialise in jazz piano and I do a lot of work as a jazz pianist in the Lincolnshire area. But please don’t let the word jazz frighten you off. To clarify, I play all those great tunes that were made famous by singers such as Jack Jones, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennet. My piano style has developed by listening to the great keyboard masters of the past. These include such musicians who had a melodic style such as George Shearing, Monty Alexander, Oscar Peterson and Erroll Garner.
In order to provide music for a wide range of different events throughout the region, versatility is important. In order to play for weddings, I have to be able to adapt to many different styles of music. These styles of music include play pop, rock, classical, ragtime, Latin, blues, and sing-along.
My Work as a Sing-along Pianist in Lincolnshire
I have recently found a dramatic increase in enquiries for me as a sing-along pianist for Cockney themed events in Lincolnshire They are not all in this region, but are throughout the UK. I provide all the song sheets and I arrive suitably dressed in Bowler hat, red neckerchief, grandad shirt, waistcoat, pocket watch, etc. All you have to do is provide some hearty voices to get things going.
